After several years as a ski instructor in renowned ski schools in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, licensed trainer for future racers and head of a licensed ski- and snowboardschool, I decided to set up as a private and independent snowsport instructor.

I work with a new and most successful training methodology. In class, I use a highly professional communication system based on bluetooth.
The system quarantees a stable voice connection with high audio quality. As the ski instructor I can communicate with the guest up to a distance of 500 m. With the aid of this system, I am continually able to tell each guest during each run what needs to be done or changed.

My experience so far has shown that any feeling of anxiety or insecurity that the guest may feel will disappear in a short time. Successful learning comes quickly and the fun of skiing increases rapidly.

Special offer for one person:
Skis and poles are lended out for beginners for free !

  • Excellent with all abilities
  • Great with beginners
  • Patient with improvers
  • Superb for intermediates
  • Brilliant local knowledge
What to expect in a lesson

I spent four days skiing solo with Peter in Zermatt. I was very happy and impressed with Peter's instruction, and I was able to rapidly improve my skiing and confidence during those days. Peter uses a radio system which allows him to give real-time feedback which is a useful tool in improving. His knowledge of the mountain is excellent and, in addition to skiing, he was able to show me much of the resort and some really excellent restaurants that I would not have been able to find myself. Peter himself is an interesting guy and has many and varied interests, so you'll never be short for a conversation. I intend to rebook Peter on my next ski trip in Europe.

Peter is an excellent instructor and teacher. Over 2 x half days of lessons he helped me enormously, as I progressed from being a capable beginner to someone who built up confidence, taking on some black runs and off piste. Peter really helped me improve from my movement and rhythm on the slopes. He also has this excellent Bluetooth headset that we both wore so we could communicate to each other whilst skiing. This was really beneficial as it allowed for in time feedback. I would fully recommend Peter - he is a friendly excellent instructor. I will be contacting him again for my next trip! Peter taught us 3-4 hours a day over 3 days this week. It was a fantastic and my husband got over his fear of being on steeper slopes and we both now feel blue slope competent. The intercom system Peter uses is great because he can give you instant corrections at the most important moments. He also takes lots of videos and sends them to you everyday so that you can see how you are doing. He is patient and adjusted his teaching when I got tired on day 2. I am so pleased that after 6 ski holidays in group lessons (where we made little progress) we opted to go for private lessons with Peter and have excellent quality lessons rather than take cheaper skischool lessons. A few hours spent with Peter is a much better option. Peter is great to get along with and really teaches for pleasure. If we can return to a ski location within range of Peter next year we will be definitely re-booking him.

Peter was brilliant! There were 5 of us each day and he managed to give us all feedback that helped us improve. His technical kit that enabled you to hear what you needed to do whilst skiing rather than when you finish a run was particulary helpful. He had us on blacks without fear which was a first for a lot of us. He was very accommodating, gave us lots of extra coaching beyond when our lesson should have ended and was very good breaking down what we needed to do. Highly, highly recommend, we had a lovely time with him. We miss you Peter !

Where is the meeting point?

You can arrange the meeting point with your chosen instructor by using the Maison Sport messaging system. We recommend agreeing this before you book your lessons, but it can always be arranged at a later date. The instructor should be able to suggest somewhere that is convenient for you both.

What qualifications do the instructors have?

Any instructor that has a blue ‘verified’ tick icon on their profile has had their qualifications vetted and verified by the Maison Sport team, the level of qualification required to have a verified account on Maison Sport varies slightly by country. As follows: France – all verified instructors must carry a ‘Carte Professionelle’ licence, the qualification requirements for this licence are very high. The licence is administered by the French Government (to attain a Carte Professionelle most instructors will have studied for an average of 5 years+ to attain the correct level of qualification). Aside from requiring the instructor to have the highest level of qualification, which includes numerous teaching and technical performance diplomas in skiing or snowboarding, European mountain safety courses and the Euro speed test, the instructors are also required to have a criminal record check and a first aid certificate. Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Finland, Scotland, Spain – all verified instructors must carry a minimum level of qualification which must be at the ISIA card level or above. Instructors working independently must provide documentation to show they meet the local regulatory requirements to do so and instructors that are working for a ski school must provide details of the school they work for.

How many people can take part in the lesson?

Unless otherwise agreed with the instructor no more than 6 people can take part in a lesson, each instructor will have their own policy for this, so it is best to just double check with them by sending a message. Most instructors won't charge extra if there is more than 1 person taking part in the lesson, but always best to check with them before booking.s

How do I book?

If you are on a desktop computer or laptop, you will see a box on the right hand side of the screen which contains various lesson options and pricing, simply select the lessons you would like and then click 'Book now', then follow the instructions to make payment. If you require further help visit the 'How to book' page -
